A New Begining with New Friends

Hello World.
Gosh its been a while.
This is the first official blog entry of the Spring 2011 Cycle.
I have the destinct pleasure of saying:
WELCOME BACK OLD FRINED AND WELCOME TO THE TEAM NEW FRIENDS.
::internet high-five::
You know who you are.
Ok. Down to business. Updates:

Today we will be wrapping up week 4 of our 14 week cycle. We've had one All youth/All Staff meeting in which we:
1. introduced the CFC project/initiative to our youth
2. created (on a miniature scale) a multimedia production without a prompt - via a moving, noise making machine
3. created (on a miniature scale) a multimedia production WITH the same prompt -via a moving, noise making machine
We specifically choose this image because we
a. wanted a powerful image the youth could respond to
b. use an image that deals with social justice but does not neccessarily hit too close to home for our youth to try to avoid our youth being influenced to choose said topic for the larger idea/project

The machines that were created in response (that I remeber) were:
-a washing machine with a human being trapped and cleansed within
-a mechanized jail cell door, holding prisioners
-a television depicting violent scenes of cowboys and indians

Powerful stuff.
I unfortunately did not get pictures of this happening.

But will be posting picture of whats been happening in our workshops as well as frequently updating where we are in the process, and some great source material we are working with.

so enjoy.
and contribute.
please.
with ice cream on top.

Casey.
